After news broke of Iwata’s death, video game fans and companies took to Twitter to pay tribute to the late Nintendo president.
On Saturday, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata died following an illness. He was 55.
Iwata had been Nintendo's fourth president in the company's history. He was also a successful programmer behind several games, including the Kirby and Super Smash Bros. series. In 2011, after the poor performance of the Nintendo 3DS, Iwata opted for a 50% salary cut instead of cutting jobs at the company.
