"I was like 5 years old when the show started and I'm pretty sure I saw the first episode, though I can't be absolutely certain. There's a moment at the end of the second Dalek story which is called "The Dalek's Invasion Of Earth" where a Dalek emerges from the Thames, it's a cliffhanger at the end of the episode. London's all deserted and you don't know there's been an alien invasion but nobody knows who's invaded us. And suddenly a Dalek emerges from the water, and remember this is only the second Dalek story, nobody even knew the Daleks were coming back or that Doctor Who itself was coming back for another season. It was so tense, so amazing, I remember that vividly.
And I'm so grateful....first, I'm a big fan of all of them but also, I'm so grateful to them because they're the only reason I'm here. It's because of all of them and all the wonderful work that they've done. The show's been with me my whole life, and I've followed it all the way through."

"I'd say I really fell in love with show filming "The Snowman", and actually reading that script. I just found it to be such a fairy tale, so magical and whimsical. The image of the TARDIS sitting on the clouds amongst the stars above victorian England with the spiral staircase, I was like, okay, I've stepped into a storybook. That's truly how I felt. I think I texted Steven and said that actually."
