How about finally getting some much needed rain in Burleson last night? Isn't it great not to worry about dragging out the water hose this morning? I live near Alsbury and Renfro, and my new rain gauge is showing about three tenths of an inch. At least this time it rained enough to get the bottom wet, and hold a little rain. If your like me you have been more than concerned about opening your water bill this summer.
If you don't mind I would like to ask a favor. If you live in town and have seen an increase in your water bill, do you mind leaving me a comment or sending me an email? I am not referring to just our normal summer jump either. I noticed a significant increase going back about a year ago. I don't mind sharing that my water bill used to run anywhere from $100 to approximately $110. Not now. It's nothing for me to get a bill for $135 up to somewhere around $150. And this summer has been as high as $160 to $175, due to watering my yard, flower beds, plants, etc.
Now, the City of Burleson Utilities very well could have increased rates and sent something out to let us know. I just don't remember receiving anything, however there may not have been anything to get. It very well could somehow just be me. I did have a leak about a year ago that caused a huge spike, and it came back down, however never to my $100 to $110 bill that ran for 10 years.
So anyway, if you would be so kind as to just let me or us know if you have experienced anything similar. I am certainly not asking for amounts, but if you have experienced an increase in general, over the last year or so in your water bill.
I do sincerely thank you in advance, and hope we can continue helping each other find jobs, send out rate increase notices, or anything else that helps all of us make life a little easier.
