The Path to Prosperity:
Accountability for Our Energy Future

As the election nears, it is important to hold our elected officials and potential office holders accountable for securing our nation’s energy future.  By asking tough, yet realistic energy questions, we hope to keep energy at the forefront of the political debate and keep candidates honest about America’s needs.  At your next town hall meeting or campaign event be sure to ask one of the following five energy questions!

North Dakota’s oil and gas boom to get even bigger, official says
Platts
North Dakota is the US’ No. 2 oil-producing state, having leapfrogged over Alaska in March and California a few months before that. And while North Dakota is not expected to vault ahead of No. 1 Texas anytime soon, the oil and natural gas boom that’s currently underway in the Roughrider State is promising to get even bigger in the coming years, according to a key state official.

What People Are Saying

“Throughout the years, the oil and natural gas industry, through the American Petroleum Institute, has adopted standards and best practices for continuous improvement in oil and natural gas extraction. These practices have been found to help protect the public by providing a blueprint for strong, carefully tended wells. Consequently, hundreds of these standards are now referenced in many state regulations — Ohio’s among them.” – Terry Fleming, executive director of the Ohio Petroleum Council
