Qualifications/Duties:
The Facilities Plant Mechanic will support the engineering department at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth

HOURS:
2nd Shift / Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED;
Specialized training in the mechanic trades or a related field desired.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of physical plant equipment and utilities systems; experience in a healthcare environment preferred

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Texas Class C Driver’s License;
Plant related certification desirable.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Proficient with computerized systems for all aspects of position including time keeping, work order system, equipment documentation, and energy management systems;
Knowledge of methods and techniques of maintaining and repairing plant equipment, machinery, utilities, and facilities;
Ability to work effectively unsupervised and in teams;
Knowledge of building and electrical codes;
Knowledge of HVAC systems and controls;
Operational characteristics of maintenance equipment and tools;
Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills;
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams;
Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills;
Ability work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (including, but not limited to)

Maintain the efficient operation of the central plant by:
Identify equipment operational and maintenance needs
Implement preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery and related facilities
Record mechanical equipment readings and ensure accuracy of records kept
Maintain plant safety features
Perform routine mechanical, electrical, or machining maintenance activities on equipment including lubrication, inspection, replacement of parts, and related plant work activities.
Utilize the CMMS to keep accurate computerized records of activities, time, and materials required; keeps accurate reports of equipment maintenance and performance.
Participate in hospital and departmental safety program, educational opportunities, and related training.
